Dayna Simma is a happy retiree, after spending 40 years in the fields of public school and church music. She grew up in Jackson, MS, daughter of parents who exposed her to music from an early age. She first pursued choral music education as a student in junior high school, which then led to seeking a Vocal Music Education degree from Oklahoma Baptist University. Upon graduation, she began a career in vocal and choral education that lasted from 1983-2024. During these years, Dayna taught secondary choral classes, led children’s choir at church, taught music at every grade level in public school from PreK - 12th, directed dramatic musical productions at church and elementary school, and has led community choirs in 2 different towns in Oklahoma. She is grateful to now be able to add All-American Communities Choir to her resume, but more important, she is thrilled to be able to share her life-long love of choral music with the citizens of Cushing and surrounding communities.
