DCRA is dedicated to community development. In late 2024, under new leadership, we launched a series of initiatives designed to reconnect with our entire community and revitalize our greatest asset-our people. Through featured community events, programs and partnerships, we are spotlighting local talent, celebrating shared culture, and fostering a spirit of unity. By engaging skills, creativity, and a forward-thinking mindset, we are building momentum towards a stronger future. DCRA is proud to provide the foundation and infrastructure needed to ignite sustainable growth and empower lasting change.

Bio - Michael Kennedy is a lifelong community leader, business professional, and passionate advocate for local development. A proud resident of Cushing, Oklahoma since 1982, Michael graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1984 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and a minor in Communications.
With a career rooted in people focused leadership, Michael has consistently dedicated his time and talents to church ministries, civic initiatives, and public schol activities. His ability to connect with others and inspire collective action has earned him a reputation as a visionary and a unifier within the community.
For over three decades, Michael has proudly served as the “Voice of the Cushing Tigers,” bringing energy and spirit to countless Friday nights as the beloved public address announcer. His deep passion for both business and community development fuels his mission to help Cushing grow stronger-economically, socially, and culturally.
Whether building partnerships, supportuing local projects, or mentoring future leaders, Michael D. Kennedy continues to invest in the heat of his hometown, championing a future shaped by purpose, pride, and progress.

Broadway District Fall Fest!

Join us for Fall Festivities featuring “Nightmare on Broadway Halloween Costume Contest, Cake walk, spooktacular music, family fun.
Christmas Lights on Broadway

November 29th, 4pm - 6:30pm
A great way to celebrate the beginning of the Christmas Season.
Small Business Saturday features our downtown stores and shops, special booths and restaurants.
Entertainment begins at 5:30 with Christmas carols, music, stories, snacks, treats, lights, and a message for our community to celebrate the season. Located at Centinniel Park, 109 E. Broadway.

This event will take place every year to kick off the Christmas holiday season. Santa made an early appearance sharing favorite Christmas stories, along with music, carolling, local shopping, carriage rides on Broadway provided by the Copper Penny, hot chocolate and smores. Special lights lined a sidewalk to remember those from Christmas past. We intend to extend the “Lights on Broadway” theme each year with more businesses and participants.

Christmas Tree Lighting - 11/30/2024 @ 6:pm

DCRA, Cushing Chamber of Commerce and Copper Penny, were excited to partner for the annual Christmas parade, Business after-hours, cookie crawl and carriage rides for lots of seasonal participation on Broadway.
